About Us Pat’s Taps is a family friendly taproom attached to Catfish Johnny’s Restaurant located in Lake Panasoffkee. In 1990, Pat and Johnny Galvin started Catfish Johnny’s with the desire to bring good food at great prices to the Lake Panasoffkee area. Johnny who was not only a great cook, was also an even better musician and entertainer. He would perform music in the parking lot of the restaurant and eventually built a deck on the front of the restaurant where they would hold their music jams. He really wanted a place that he could perform inside away from the heat and the unpredictable Florida weather. So in 1995, Johnny along with many friends and family members started the addition of what would be called “The Party Barn”. This space provided a place for many Tuesday Jams, birthday parties, banquets and themed holiday parties. The stage was where Johnny and his friends would entertain people - the part that he loved doing the most! Unfortunately, we lost Johnny in 2021 to leukemia. Shortly thereafter, the dreaded COVID pandemic occurred and large groups of people were no longer getting together. Johnny’s beloved Party Barn sat empty for several years. That’s when the idea of a family friendly taproom started. A place where friends could meet and enjoy a quick bite and something cold to drink. Craft beer was brought to Lake Panasoffkee with the opening of Pat’s Taps! Although the taproom concept is new, the building itself has been here for quite some time. Since the restaurant was named after Johnny, we thought it only fitting to name the taproom after Pat! Pat along with her family opened Pat’s Taps at Catfish Johnny’s in October of 2022. The taproom offers one of a kind craft beer from local Florida breweries as well as national breweries. We offer 12 rotating taps, typically not serving the same beer again. We pride ourselves on being the only craft beer taproom in the area. The craft beer we serve isn’t usually anything you can purchase anywhere nearby. We also serve a variety of pub style food like our delicious Bavarian pretzel, one of a kind tacos like our Gator or Catfish tacos, our signature Brisket Grilled Cheese and yummy flatbreads. We have fun weekly events such as cornhole leagues, painting nights, trivia, music bingo, karaoke and live music.
